A clean cut identity with a retro charm to represent the south of England’s premier van meet-up, hosting a collective of some of the finest custom campers around with a first-class cup of coffee.
After previously working to refine the branding of south coast based Coombe Valley Campers, they approached Studio.rh to create the new visual identity of their monthly Campers & Coffee events. Being a proud owner of a 1987 VW Vanagon, of course I would design the identity!
The brief called for something bold, fun and inclusive with a retro feel. Creative inspiration was found in vintage 70s and 80s festival shirts and posters, strong and simplistic forms with minimal colour palettes.
Utilising geometric shapes and a reduction design process that simplifies the object, in this case a van, down to its simplest form whilst still retaining the identifiable features, a confidently bold logo mark was created. Designed with merchandise in mind, utilising 3 colour screen print production palettes and confident lines, the new identity was ready to adorn shirts, caps, hoodies, mugs, stickers, air fresheners and event marketing.
